Sideline Behavior Policy

The Martinsburg Misfits are committed to providing a positive, safe, and respectful environment for all players, coaches, officials, and families. Sideline behavior plays a critical role in player development and sportsmanship.

Expectations for Parents, Guardians & Spectators

All spectators are expected to:

  • Encourage players positively and respectfully at all times

  • Allow coaches to coach and players to play

  • Respect all officials, coaches, players, and opposing teams

  • Model good sportsmanship and appropriate language

  • Support a fun, safe, and development-focused environment

Prohibited Sideline Behaviors

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Coaching from the sidelines

  • Arguing with or questioning umpire calls

  • Yelling instructions, criticism, or negative comments

  • Use of profanity, threats, or inappropriate language

  • Confronting coaches, players, officials, or other spectators

  • Taunting or unsportsmanlike conduct toward opposing teams

  • Interfering with games, practices, or team activities

Enforcement & Consequences

Martinsburg Misfits reserves the right to enforce this policy at all times.

Violations may result in:

  1. Verbal warning

  2. Removal from the sideline or facility

  3. Suspension from future games or events

  4. Player removal from the program (no refund) for repeated or severe violations

Zero-Tolerance Policy

Any behavior that threatens the safety or well-being of players, coaches, officials, or spectators will result in immediate removal from the facility and may lead to further disciplinary action.
